Makapuu Point is a nice shore dive to the most eastern point of Oahu.

Name divesite: Makapuu Point
Depth: 20-45ft (6-13m)
Visibility: 30-120ft (9-36m)
Accessibility: Shore, Boat
Time to visit: All year long, best at its leeward side
Inserted/Added by: HAWAIIscubadiving.com

Makapu'u Beach Park located near Sea Life Park and has an easy shore dive just off the Point. A word of warning, before you begin this dive you should look to see if there are surfers at the beach. If there are wave conditions will make this dive less than appealing. If not, the dive starts at the right, where the beach turns into a rocky shoreline. The site bottoms out at 45 feet with a sandy bottom and coral outcroppings. It is an out-and-back dive along the lava slope to the point. Trumpetfish lead the community of Hawaiian Tropical fish that hover near the nooks and crannies. Marine Life: Lobster, Triton Trumpets, Helmet Shells and Trumpetfish.
