Mauna Lani Caves or Haunted Caverns is a dive site that offers great coral and innumerable caves to explore. The caves are in about 15-30ft of water all along the reef. The terrain is a gently sloping coral reef with most of the caves located in a small shelf where the depth drops from shallow water to about 30-40ft. Some are barely large enough for a diver and tank, some are quite large with room for the whole dive party to explore. Good fish, turtles and just great diving. Suitable and enjoyable diving for beginners to experienced divers.
Access from shore may be possible but would require dealing with parking in the resort and walking your gear to the beach. The sites are a couple hundred yards out from the large sandy beach with good snorkeling along the way. For boat diving, the public day-use buoys are located nearly on top of the caves. Just work you way north or south at the same depth to locate more caves to explore.

Editor: Lars Hemel Have fun breathing underwater, but breathing above water is even more important!
